As long as we feel victimised, bitter and resentful towards our wound, and seek to escape from suffering it, we remain inescapably bound to it. This is neurotic suffering, as opposed to the authentic suffering of the wounded healer which is purified. The wound can destroy you, or it can wake you up. Why is it called a freemartin? Freemartins are women who are born sterile due to exposure to male hormones in the womb. This is the same condition that affects some calves, who are born and referred to as "freemartins."
Does a freemartin have to be a twin? Scientific studies have shown that in calves, freemartinism occurs when the male twin shares hormones with the female, rendering it infertile. In Brave New World, the hormones are introduced artificially and the freemartins need not be twins.
Can a freemartin get pregnant? A freemartin cannot get pregnant. The hormone treatments render the women infertile, allowing them to more easily engage in the free love that the state encourages.

Make sure you look for the revolution per minute designation on your record before dropping it on your turntable’s platter. If you don’t match your record player’s setting to the rotation needs of the disk, you could distort the record to the point where it would be impossible to play it again.

The medulla oblongata or simply medulla is a long stem-like structure which makes up the lower part of the brainstem. It is anterior and partially inferior to the cerebellum. During embryonic development, the medulla oblongata develops from the myelencephalon. The myelencephalon is a secondary vesicle which forms during the maturation of the rhombencephalon, also referred to as the hindbrain.

In modern clinical usage, the word bulbar (as in bulbar palsy) is retained for terms that relate to the medulla oblongata, particularly in reference to medical conditions.
